Mr. Island has over 22 combined years of executive management and high-tech investigation/intelligence collection expertise in the areas of civil/criminal investigations and regulatory compliance within Federal and State Government, Military and Private sectors. As a criminal investigator and cryptologic systems and intelligence specialist, Mr. Island has been responsible for the oversight and enforcement of Federal, State, and Local laws, policies, and procedures associated with civil, criminal, and domestic terror investigations. Responsibilities include the administration of digital evidence collection, investigation, detection and handling methodologies, as well as drawing the appropriate factual inferences and conclusions related to the violation of Federal laws and regulations. As the Supervisory In-Charge (SIC) of Southeast Texas, Mr. Island directly managed and was responsible for a Federal investigative and compliance team of 10 regulatory Inspectors, charged with conducting intellectual research and oversight of adversarial threats posed to various surface transportation systems and networks in the Houston High Threat Urban Area (HTUA). He served as the principal investigator and advisor to senior executive leadership on all matters which involve complex problems and addressed concerns relative to the applicable security programs as well as current and relevant DHS/TSA Security Directives. Mr. Island also has extensive experience with civil investigations where he has supervised and conducted a vast number of civil investigations related to alleged or suspected security violations of Federal law for which he was responsible for the initiation of criminal investigations associated with suspected security violations. In addition, Mr. Island directed, coordinated, and participated in intelligence investigations and activities of individuals, groups, and incidents to detect, identify, and neutralize espionage, subversion, sabotage, treason, sedition, and terrorism directed against the United States, as well as determining suitability for individuals requesting access to Classified Materials and Sensitive Security Information (SSI). As a Reserve Deputy for the State of Texas (Harris County), Mr. Island is a Cybercrime Investigator in the High-Tech Crimes Unit, investigating a number of crimes that range from the recovery of file systems on computers that have been hacked or damaged, specializes in the recovery of data from mobile devices and investigates internet crimes against children (ICAC). Since joining LCG, Mr. Island has investigated or participated in numerous technical investigations involving the digital forensic analysis of computers and mobile devices that have involved criminal activity, fraud, intellectual property theft, internal investigations, etc.
